Dr Joseph Klar graduated from Sydney University in 1972 with honours.
He travelled extensively worldwide attending numerous courses on various aspects of dentistry including orthodontics, medicine and anaesthetics, thereby gaining tremendous exposure essential to become a respected and effective cosmetic dentist. He was based in London from 1973 till 1975. During this time he completed studies in anaesthetics and sedation.
Dr Klar is a senior Instructor and a Fellow of the International Association for Orthodontics. He is one of a very few practitioners who is qualified to administer dental sedation. He has completed the British Anaesthetics course in 1973 (Society for Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry – SAAD). He has over thirty years experience in this field. He is fully approved by The Dental Board of NSW to practice IV Sedation.
Dr Klar is qualified in dentofacial orthopaedics and orthodontics. This procedure not only rearranges teeth but improves the facial skeleton and profile. He has attended dozens of seminars and updates worldwide on this subject and he is a member of both the Australian Association of Orthopaedics and Orthodontics as well as the International Association of Orthodontics. He is a member of many dental societies and study groups. He is a member of the Australian Dental Association. He is a senior instructor for the International Association for Orthodontics. He holds a Fellowship from the IAO.
In the past years Dr Klar has attended dozens of courses in every facet of dentistry ensuring that his patients receive the optimum in care and techniques.
Dr William MeadesBDS (London)
Dr William Meades enjoyed a very international upbringing although his formative years in education were spent in Oxfordshire England. He graduated from the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2005 with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Dr Meades spent several years working in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the UK and has pursued post graduate qualifications in oral implantology orthodontics and facial injectables. A dedicated general dental surgeon, Dr Meades clinical interests are in oral surgery, implantology, and in oral and cosmetic rehabilitation.
Dr Meades is especially interested in using the latest technologies to restore oral health, and in the intimate connection between oral health and overall health. He takes a holistic approach when treating patients and when appropriate, liaises with other specialists to deliver the very best level of care for people. Dr Meades is passionate about preventive dentistry, discussing modifiable factors with patients that could help improve oral and potentially overall health too.
Although a recent arrival to Sydney, Dr Meades is planning a charity offering oral health care to specific individuals who will benefit from treatment. Previously, Dr Meades has enjoyed charity work all over the world, including Mozambique, Laos, and Kenya, but is looking forward to becoming involved locally.
Away from dentistry, Dr Meades has a passion for climbing, which he combines with his love of travel. Travel is one of his favourite subjects to chat about, along with politics, farming and gadgets and technology.
Dr E.J. LieB.Pharm B Dent (Honours)
Dr EJ Lie has a dental degree and pharmacy degree. Our multiskilled dentist graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor Degree in Dentistry with Honours and a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy.
With her commitment to professional development, Dr EJ has completed the Orthodontics 2 course at the University of Sydney. She also finished Asid 1-3 (Australian Society of Implant Dentistry) and completed Robert London cadaver implant course. She keeps up to date in all facets of dentistry by attending courses.She is currently enrolled in POS (Progressive Orthodontic Seminars).
Dr EJ enjoys endodontics and is interested in orthodontics, implants, and cosmetic dentistry. She loves being a dentist that she makes herself personally responsible for looking after her patients’ health and wellbeing. Dr Lie loves new dental technology and using the latest dental toys, she endeavours to make each visit as gentle and painless as possible.
Our multilingual dentist can speak English, Chinese and a little bit of Vietnamese. To add to her current wealth of knowledge, she is now learning to speak Bahasa.
Dr EJ is a proud dog mum to her Japanese spitz baby called Millie. She loves dogs, music, books and languages.
Dr Jack HodgkinsonBOH (Dent Sci), Grad Dip Dent (Griffith)
Dr Jack Hodgkinson grew up in the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and graduated from Griffith University in the Gold Coast. Hailing from a family of medical practitioners Dr Hodgkinson prides himself on providing the highest level of care for his patients. He strives to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each of his patients.
After graduation, Dr Hodgkinson returned to his home town and worked in the local hospitals for some time treating a wide range of patients. He has also worked with the Royal Flying Doctors Service, bringing his expertise and skill to remote areas of Queensland which have limited access to dental care.
Dr Jack made the move to Sydney in 2015 and has treated patients all across the city ranging from family dental settings to high-end cosmetic clinics, joining City Dental in 2018.
Dr Jack enjoys practising all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in oral surgery. He is passionate about the latest advances in dental technology, using digital scanners, CAD/CAM milling and 3D printing to achieve the best results for his patients.
Dr Jack has a calm, relaxed demeanour and works with patients to ensure a peaceful appointment and precise treatment outcomes.
In his spare time, Jack loves to surf, cook, eat and travel.
Dr Ekaterina VoranavaBDS (BLR) ADC (Perth)
Dr Ekaterina Voranava joined us from Sydney’s eastern and southern suburbs practices. Originally from Belarus, she graduated from Belarussian State Medical University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2008.
She then moved to Australia to further her career where she earned her qualifications from Perth WA. She also spent time at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.
Dr Ekatarina strives to find the safest and least invasive treatments ensuring healthy and beautiful smiles for her patients. She specialises in orthodontics and pays a lot of attention to interceptive orthodontics and treatments with clear aligners and modern fixed braces systems.
Having been raised amongst doctors, Dr Ekatarina always had that passion and desire to help others. With her compassionate nature and love for sciences, she always knew that she is best suited for a career in healthcare.
Away from dentistry, Dr Ekatarina loves spending time with her family and leading a healthy and active lifestyle. She enjoys cooking, travelling and practising yoga and meditation.

Dr Marc Logarta was awarded a Full Medical Scholarship and achieved numerous awards during his studies, including UC Irvine Department of Anesthesiology Medical Student of the Year. After completing his post-graduate residency in Anesthesiology at the University of California, Dr Marc Logarta was Attending Staff Anesthesiologist at UCLA and became Board Certified in 2008. He is exceptionally well qualified, has been published extensively and lectures regularly. Dr Logarta has participated in numerous hospital review boards and belongs to multiple professional groups. Amongst others, he is a member of ANZCA Neuroanaesthesia Special Interest Group and ANZCA Perioperative Medicine Special Interest Group.
Dr Logarta always feels there is more to learn and is dedicated to expanding his skills and knowledge through continuing education. He is fluent in Spanish and Filipino, and Dr Logarta’s humanitarian activities include Philippine Cerebral Palsy and Childfund Australia.
