Implant Dentistry

Make an Appointment

Many people will lose or are already missing teeth. Even the loss of a single tooth can negatively impact oral health, so it is important to consider their replacement. Dental implants are an advanced solution for tooth loss, restoring missing teeth in a way that looks natural. Our implant dentistry services include:

• Single/multiple implants

• All-on-Four

• Sinus grafts/lifts

• Bone grafting

• Restorative implants

• Image-guided surgery

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant replaces a tooth root artificially, consisting of a small post or screw surgically inserted into the jawbone. It is made from titanium, a material that is highly biocompatible so that within a few months the post becomes fused to the jawbone during a process called osseointegration. Once fused in place, a connector called an abutment is attached to the post, and this supports the restoration which could be a crown, bridge or even a full denture.

Who Is Suitable for Dental Implant Treatment?

Most people are suitable for dental implants, but we do screen patients very carefully for this procedure, and your jaws must have finished developing as implants are not normally suitable for people under age 18. Otherwise, age is not generally a barrier for treatment, and dental implants frequently help older people struggling with significant tooth loss or with full dentures.

During your initial consultation, we will discuss your oral health and will review your medical health. Sometimes, medical conditions affecting the immune system can impair implant healing. If you smoke, we recommend quitting, at least for the duration of treatment, and preferably for good because smoking interferes with healing and could negatively affect the long-term success of treatment.
