Beef and tomato Ragu
Beef and tomato Ragu is a delicious and hearty Italian sauce that’s perfect for pasta or polenta. Here’s a recipe to make it:
Ingredients:
- 500g beef mince
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, around 3-4 minutes.
- Add the beef mince to the pot and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and cooked through.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef stock, oregano, salt, and pepper to the pot and stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for around 30 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
- Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve hot over cooked pasta or polenta, garnished with fresh basil leaves. Enjoy!
